SIOR celebrates 75th anniversary; Moves Diamond Scepter across the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico

New York, NY In celebration of SIOR’s 75th anniversary, SIOR chapters have been moving a Diamond Scepter (Torch) across the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico. The Diamond Scepter has been traveling  by all modes of transportation to showcase Local Chapters and  bring awareness to SIOR’S Anniversary and upcoming World Conference at The Sheraton New York Times Square; October 20th – 22nd.

The SIOR Diamond Tour commenced on April 16, 2016 at the close of the SIOR Spring

World Conference in San Diego.  The Torch made its way through the Western USA and Mexico and in June it travelled to London for a week.  Presently it is weaving its way through the East and into Canada.  Making its final destination in New York at The SIOR Fall World Conference on October 21, 2016.

Registration for the World Conference is in excess of 1,100 SIOR Designees, the second highest attendance at a conference event in SIOR’s history.  With World Class speakers such as Rudy Giuliani and Tom Brokaw and numerous panels hi-lighting some of the top industry leaders in Brokerage, Development, Innovation Technology and issues impacting Global Real Estate Business, there is a good chance this will be the most attended SIOR Conference ever. In addition, there will be extraordinary networking opportunities with top Commercial Real

Estate practitioners from the US, Canada and the ever growing list of International Brokers attending this truly global event.

Thanks to Gabriel Silverstein, SIOR, of Angelic Real Estate, LLC, who is also president of the Local New York Chapter, of SIOR, the Torch was transported in his private plane from Philadelphia for a detour from its planned itinerary. This was done, so The Torch could be brought from Brooklyn Heights, over the Brooklyn Bridge and to The Freedom Tower Site in lower Manhattan.

On the picture perfect afternoon of September 23rd Robert Hebron, SIOR and William O’Brien, SIOR had the opportunity to meet in Brooklyn and transport The Torch over the Iconic Brooklyn Bridge via bicycle and into lower Manhattan, ultimately ending up at the foot of The Freedom Tower and the  adjacent $4 Billion Oculus Hub Connection to Fulton Center. The adjoining 911 Memorial was not missed either, as both Robert and Bill paused with Bill’s brother Michael  O’Brien III, SIOR to remember the many families impacted by  The Terrorist Act that occurred, on this hollowed ground some 15 years prior.
